Jetzt bin ich eine Woche mit meinem Laptop im Internet gewesen und fand es einfach nur toll. Aber dann...
Habe gestern einen Virenscan und eine Defragmentierung laufen lassen und bin erst Mittags wieder an den Laptop gegangen. Und da habe ich es gesehen: Disk read failure und er - der Laptop - macht sehr seltsame Geraeusche. So ein Mist. Mein erster Gedanke: Das Dingen ist hinueber.
Vaughan war so nett und hat sich das Stueck mal angesehen. Es ist zwar nicht komplett hinueber, aber ich kann alle meine Daten vergessen. Saemtliche Photos, Videos und Musik. Alle Bericht, die ich ueber Perth geschrieben habe... WEG. So ein Mist. Erst mal habe ich mich ueber den Laptop aufgeregt, dann ueber mich geaergert. Vor vier Monaten hatte ich noch ueberlegt, ob ich nicht vielleicht doch noch eine kleine Festplatte mitnehmen solle. Aber an sich hielt ich das nicht fuer noetig und schliesslich hatte ich ja schon einiges an Elektronik im Handgepaeck. Also habe ich keine mehr gekauft. Jetzt bereue ich es und koennte mich in den Allerwertesten treten...

Aber egal. Vaughan ist einfach genial und hat mir direkt seinen alten PC aufgebaut und mit dem Internet verbunden. Dass ich ihm erzaehlt habe, ich koenne auch erst mal ohne Computer auskommen und er brauche das nicht jetzt sofort machen, hat ihn gar nicht interessiert.
Ich weiss nur nicht, wie ich es ihm danken soll. Letzte Woche stellt er seinen Router um und investiert einiges an Zeit um mich mit meinem Laptop internetfaehig zu machen und heute dann, schaut er ob er mein Schaetzchen wieder zum arbeiten bringt, macht die Aenderungen von letzter Woche wieder rueckgaengig und will mir auch helfen, die Festplatte aus dem Laptop auszutauschen. 'Helfen' emint quasi er macht es und ich schaue zu...
Ich muss mir irgendetwas als Dank einfallen lassen, dass steht fest!!!


Last week, I have just arrived, Vaughan prepared the router in a way that I can connect to the internet with my own laptop. Yesterday that thing stopped work. I don't know. All my folders with music and espacially my taken photos are gone!
The wore is that I thought abolut buying a 2,5"HDD before I left germany. But then I saw all the electronic stuff I take with me and take the decision that I would not need an extra HDD. Even if I need one I could by them here in Australia. How silly! In the moment I would like to have a HDD with all my folders and stuff here. That I lost the music is bad but worst is, that I lost all my taken photos from Perth. I haven't got upload all of them with picasa. S..t.
Today Vaughan spent a lot of time to have first a look on my laptop and later to bring his old computer and connect that one with the internet. Then he told me he will have a look next week and change the HDD in my laptop so we hope it will work again.
I don't know how to thank him. I have to think about something special but I don't know yet!
