Adelaide die 2te

So, nachdem ich gestern noch schnell einen Post geschrieben habe, gibt es hier noch mal eine Ergänzung.
Also, Adelaide ist die 5. Größte Stadt in Australien und hat gerade mal 1,1 Mio Einwohner, von denen z.Z. gut 22tsd innerhalb des Stadtgebietes leben. Das Stadtgebiet ist etwa eine Quadratmeile groß und auf allen vier Seiten erst von einer „Terrace „(nord, ost, sued und west) sowie von einer Grünanlage umgeben.
Auch als Stadt der Kirchen oder Hauptstadt im Grünen bekannt, lässt sich leicht erraten, was ich hier zu sehen bekomme:
Kirchen und Parkanlagen – es ist wunderschön.
Daneben gibt es natürlich auch noch ein Parliament House, Museum, Kunstgallerie, Einkaufszonen, Chinatown, Queen Victoria (in Adelaide ist es ein Platz), Strand und Weihnachten!
Weihnachten hier heisst: der Weihnachtsbaum steht, in einigen Parks werden Weihnachstlieder gesungen und in der Haupt – Einkaufszone sind Lautsprecher angebracht, die in einem Abstand von vielleicht 50m den ganzen Tag Weihnachtslieder dudeln.
Von den Palmen mal abgesehen, war ich ziemlich an Deutschland erinnert: Angenehmes Klima (gut, das hättet ihr gerne), Backsteinhäuser und alles ziemlich ruhig.Zumal die Ladenschlusszeiten tatsächlich 17h30 sind; etwas länger haben Coles und Woolworths (vergleichbar mit Aldi und Lidl) auf.
Was hier in Adelaide wieder ganz prima ist: Es gibt kostenfreie Busse, die im Stadtgebiet fahren und mich an nahezu jedem Sightseeing Punkt absetzen. Dazu habe ich mich gestern in der Bibliothek als Besucher angemeldet, was mir jeden Tag eine Stunde Internet – Nutzung einbringt... Leider kann ich nur keine Fotos in mein Picasa Webalbum hochladen...
Angeblich sind 5 Dinge ein Muss, wenn man in Adelaide ist:
Sightseeing innerstaedtisch
Hahndorf
Barossa
Glenelg
Port Adelaide

Die ersten drei habe ich Montag und Dienstag gesehen, heute geht es nach Glenelg und Morgen früh höchstwahrscheinlich noch nach Port Adelaide, wenn es zeitlich vor meiner Abreise nach Kangaroo Isalnd noch klappt.
Fazit also: Gut geplante 4 Tage!



Part two to my post about Adelaide, I wrote quickly yesterday.
Like I mentioned – Adelaide is a small town with round 1,1 Mio residents; it is the 5th biggest town in Australia and the city center contains an area from 1 square mile, surrounded by the 4 terraces (north, east, south and west) as well as some parklands.
Other names from Adelaide are “town of churches” or “capital of parklands” – guess what I do see on nearly every corner! But anyway – it is just lovely here:
Not as busy and crowded as Sydney is, nor as hot and dry as Perth is – just right for me.
Okay, I have to adjust to these strange trading hours here: the shops close at 5.30pm; just Woolworths and Coles are open up to 9pm. I must have looked really stupid on Monday, while strolling through the Rundell Street Mall, looking for an open shop. The only thing I found (better written, heared) were chrtistmas carols, that are played in the whole street through speakers for all the day…
But a really, really good thing:
Within the center free busses are operating, so you can go around quite easily. Another good thing: I am registered in the library as a visitor, through which I get an hour free internet per day! I just have to figure out, how I can upload my photos to my webalbum – so long you have to read my posts only!!!

The first three I have done already on Monday and Tuesday, I am off to Glenelg today – enjoying the beach and doing a sailing trip – and if there is some time left on Thursday I will spent it in Port Adelaide.
You see: perfectly planned 4 days!!!!
